MS Residence

Setting the tone for modern-minimal design sensibilities, this residence emerges as a humble and spacious private abode in the heart of Riyadh.  The plot hosts a villa and a guesthouse followed by an extensive garden that collectively brings a sense of openness and adds more to its dynamic design.

Keeping in mind the privacy of every user and a clean circulation, each separate block is provided with its separate access and entry. While the separation acts as a convenience for seclusion, the garden spaces are where the communal spirits thrive. The picturesque landscape becomes the common ground to enjoy the refreshments that nature offers. This scenic setting combines the built form with nature and imbibes a sense of being present within it.  The architecture’s distinctive features draw inspiration from the context, to create a space of tranquility and calm. The MS Residence becomes a seamless unity of minimalistic approach while incorporating elements of detail. This can be seen in the local influences with artistic yet subtle motifs that have a contemporary take. A series of ornate arches are a welcoming surprise with their intricately laid motifs that envelope the residence.

While the architecture takes the limelight in its simple yet detail-oriented approach, the surrounding landscape with a unique water element takes the center stage. Ideated to emerge from a wall fountain, the water traverses through its path and merges with the swimming pool; giving a sense of visual continuity. Simplicity and minimalism can often be the face of elegance. The use of the humble Riyadh stone in the architecture of this residence is a testimonial of a similar thought. Combined with a warm-light color palette and sleek lighting layouts the residence expresses its majestic self. For a site that has stood through the course of history, MS residence emerges as a thread that connects the intricacy of the past with the simplicity of the present.
