AZ Residence

Inspired by a contemporary neo-classical approach, the AZ residence in Riyadh has a distinctive character with a unique material palette.  

The materiality combines intricate marble with the simplistic plaster to create a balanced palette. Meanwhile, the offsetting details on the facade add depth to the design, creating a play of light and shadow.  The monumental rectangular frames with its grand presence unfold the path to the luxurious interiors. 

As you enter, the mesmerizing natural trees that emerge from the central court grab the attention. What follows is a  staircase in a contemporary take with three sets of landings following a continuous loop, having a rhythm of its own. Its minimal steps add to its floaty and airy appeal. The program includes interactive spaces that resonate with a diverse age group. It includes a private villa for the family and a guest reception with state-of-art amenities. Extending the sense of privacy, the guest zones are detached from the family areas with a separate access that allows ease of movement. The design approach has a unique take on its basements. Open-to-sky pockets and punctures are provided to bring in light and ventilation within the indoors, giving space for natural species to grow. 

Extending over the lush plot of 2300 sq.m  the landscape plays an important role in creating engaging spaces. The waterfall fountain with its metal-clad frame, placed at the center of a 45 sq. m swimming pool acts as the feature element. To provide the guests and family members with their privacy to interact, the project has multiple gardens with a flexibility in its design. These areas are separated with a minimal fence that can be opened up for communal activities. 

The AZ residence presents a detail-oriented approach with deeply characterized spaces. Meanwhile, a scenic blend of the outdoors with the indoors brings a fresh perspective to the table.
